Help! I suck at sales!

Since I am testing out this accelerated sales success CD, I felt that I needed a sales position. I didn't hear back from Merchant Capital Store, but I may be okay with that. I have always had a timid disposition on the phone and my natural inclination is to get off the phone as quickly as possible if people don't want to talk to me. That doesn't work so well for sales. So, I applied to a job on craigslist that looks perfect for me.  At least, I hope that it is perfect for me. It emphasized that I didn't need my own transportation because it was close to the metro.  Score! I didn't listen to the accelerated sales success at night last night. My phone was dead and I just didn't feel like cueing it up. So, I decided that listening during the day today would suffice. My consistency is getting better. Hopefully, my self-confidence will improve, my procrastination will fade and I'll start making sales. I'm being more consistent with my blogging, but I need...

I finally was able to talk to the client relationship manager at Merchant Capital Store regarding my poor results with cold calling. In speaking with her, she helped identify the problem, which was that I don't sound confident on the phone. She told me that everything that I say sounds like a question and I need to make it sound like a statement or command. Whoa! I never expected to hear that. I also was reading the script and making it sound like a polished script instead of a conversation. Another mistake. I don't know if they'll let me try cold calling again. We worked together for 45 minutes on the intonation of my voice. I'm a little indifferent if they decide to reinstate me and put me back on the dialer. If I don't do sales on the phone, I can continue to write. Heck, no one cares how my voice sounds in a blogpost. They can read it or pass on it. I'm super excited to be creating more blog content. Yesterday, I got a video done. I had some trouble posting it. But the amazing thing is that I didn't give up! I was inspired. I also saw that I gained a subscriber yesterday. While I'm sure that won't amount to much, as I'm only at 225 and not even sure if these people are coming back to watch my videos, it pushed me to do more. I also found myself repeating some of the positive affirmations about past sales successes while I was walking home. Even though Accelerated Sales Success is changing my behaviors slowly, it is changing my thought patterns. I still expect it to take 3 full months and I'm only at about 3 weeks. The other thing is that the website creation to gaining regular traffic takes about ninety days, so I shouldn't give up just yet. I just finished my post for today. I was able to compose a blog post and start a page for rebounding. I love rebounding and decided that I am going to cure my alopecia with rebounding. I made the decision that I would share my journey online. This will raise alopecia awareness. I actually filmed a video this morning of myself without my wig. I realized that if I connect with the alopecia audience there are a lot of people and products that I can reach. It is a really niche market. Not very many people are tapping into it. Only 1% of the population even has alopecia areata. I may be able to make a connection between rebounding and alopecia. If I can heal my alopecia with simple rebounding, I can make a huge impact and create a large audience. So, what is going on with my sales? I have none yet. Maybe taking Sunday off wasn't such a bad idea. I got up this morning and rebounded on my mini trampoline. As I did, I watched some videos and got new content ideas. Not only that, I improved my lung capacity, my muscle tone and my overall health. I love rebounding. So, this week, I will be reviewing rebounders on my website and talking about how rebounding is impacting my health goals. I listened to my Accelerated Sales Success through the night. I really don't have more sales to prove that it works yet, but I am taking it from ground zero. I wasn't in sales to start with and had pretty bad results from the book sales and business that I tried to start. So, we shall see where I am in 90 days. Well, at least I am consistent in journaling this blog about not wanting to work on my sales skills. But, I have made a lot of steps forward in the last week or two for someone who hasn't embraced sales. The key to success is consistently taking steps forward. Even writing this paragraph to say that I listened to my sales success audio is a step in the right direction. I think it would be more helpful to have a sales job where I have to go to every day instead of a substitute teaching position. I'm working on getting one and switching. I do have the cold calling position, which I have been feeling like it doesn't quite work for me and is so hard to get motivated to do it at home after I've worked at my sub job for 7 hours.

I have been procrastinating uploading videos for awhile now. But today, I finally got two of them edited and uploaded to youtube. I also got a comment on one already! I'm happy about that. I know that it will take some discipline to whip out the video camera and get my smiling face on it, but if I am consistent in my attempts, I will get better and better at it. I listened to my sales audio last night and for a little bit today. I didn't not create as much content as I had hoped, but I'm proud to have uploaded a video. I think as my thoughts turn more towards sales, I will get more and more confident in creating things and selling things. Fingers crossed anyway!

Ok, I kind of knew this was coming.  I have been inactivated as a cold caller for Merchant Capital Store.  I'm bummed, but honestly I had been procrastinating my phone calling.  I  was supposed to work with our client relationship manager, but our schedules haven't been working out.  Finally, I had a full day free and planned on making calls, though I dreaded the dialer all morning and considered switching my focus to paid affiliate sales.  I'm still listening to my accelerated sales success and dreaming big, but I think it will be a full 90 days before my actions start to change.  I don't know. So, I have been procrastinating making phone calls for Merchant Capital Store.   I was frustrated that after 12 hours of phone calls, I wasn't able to even get a lead.  I was able to get several emails.  I should have followed up on that.  I listened the accelerated sales success again last night.  It is a simple mental block that is keeping me from taking action. My trading was average yesterday.  The trade that was upside down 30 pips hit and I earned 10 pips from that trade.  I should have taken the ten pips from one of my trades, but set a higher target of 70 pips based on a daily chart.  Towards the end of the day, I think I messed up that trade by putting another trade in on the same instrument.  At any rate, I am learning.  I am becoming more patient in waiting for the signals and becoming more and more aware of the market direction. Well, I didn't do the cold calling that I set as my intention.  So, the sales audio may not be sinking in completely.  I took a night off from listening to it and only listened briefly yesterday.  I was super discouraged.  I'm getting back on track today.  I'm hoping that over time the audios will help me with my motivation to make cold calls or write my blog.  Right now, it takes a great deal of effort to motivate myself to do these things. So, what are my results from a weeks worth of listening to positive affirmations on trading and sales?  Absolutely zero.  Yesterday and the day before, my trading sucked.  I got into trades and put a stop loss at about 10 pips.  Three out of four times, I got stopped out right before it hit my target.  😕  Luckily it was in my micro account and all I lost was $3.  My biggest problem is not holding on long enough to my winning trades.  My losing trades I tend to hold on to too lo...

Ok, so Saturday and Sunday were not especially productive.  One thing I decided on Sunday was that I would really try the phone sales again.  I haven't heard back from our client relationship manager in terms of helping me connect with the people on the phone, but I decided I'd do four hours of calling everyday this week.  I have Friday off from substitute teaching, so this will give me an opportunity to make some money. I have been consistent for 8 days on listening at least four hours per day.  I also listened all night most nights.  There was one night where it turned off on me and when I awoke, the affirmations weren't playing. I got really discouraged after twenty minutes of cold calling, so I didn't spend four hours on the phone yesterday.  I think because I was unable to get a lead after ten hours of calling, it just wasn't adding up to me numbers wise.  I know other people are getting results with the cold calling, but I just wasn't getting to the decision makers, which was increasingly frustrating.  So, I started reading the affiliate marketing book more and downloaded an indicator for forex. Yesterday, I listened to a training for the credit card processing telesales position that I had almost given up on.  It was frustrating to hear that other people had success with generating leads with the script and I had not.  The new relationship manager offered to help me, so I took her up on the offer despite my idea that I would love creating a blog more than calling people.  Maybe it is the  Accelerated Sales Success  getting into my head.  I didn't want to give up, but I just couldn't see how I was going to get leads if I didn't even have one after twelve hours of calling and not really even getting ahold of the people in charge. I got my second post done yesterday.  When I previewed it, the pictures didn't seem like they were in the right place.  I decided that I would push forward and create a new page today and use Saturday to spruce up the pages and posts that I create this week. This was the trickiest thing for me to do.  I wanted to research the heck out of the URL, but I knew that my pages and posts would more likely be ranking for different categories and keywords.  The other thing is that I wanted to do something that I was interested in and something that would make money.  I picked the uber popular fitness category.  My reasoning is that I am already interested in fitness at home, I have a ton of things that I have already purchased from Amazon that I could review on a video from home.  Fitness is fun and it intrigues me!
