One Step at a Time

I got my second post done yesterday.  When I previewed it, the pictures didn't seem like they were in the right place.  I decided that I would push forward and create a new page today and use Saturday to spruce up the pages and posts that I create this week.

Today's goals are to🙌
-research a related blog post topic
-create a keyword rich blog page
-create backlinks to the website page
-upload to youtube the videos that I created
-listen to my Accelerated Sales audio for 4 hours during the day

The Accelerated Sales Success audio is creating some momentum in my actions.😁  I gave up on cold calling last week, but yesterday I decided I could try it again.  Mostly because today we have a snow day and it is an opportunity to work even though I feel like I'm not making progress through cold calling.  I like creating a niche website with product reviews because it is something that I can easily see progress on whether or not I am making sales.

It is hard to say whether the Accelerated Sales Success audio is working for me.  There are a lot of positive affirmations and it is supposed to take a couple months for them to sink in and really change my behaviors.  I have listened to Mike Brescia's organization audios and notice that I tend to clean up after myself more when I listen to them.  However, if I stop and the habit hasn't really set in, I go back to my old, lazy, disorganized ways.  Having this blog helps me to track my progress and ensures that I am staying consistent with it, so that should help!

I opened up SEMrush and did some free research.  Since I'm not earning money from my site yet, I'm not going to pay to do a ton of research just yet.  What did I find out? The long tail keywords get over 1,000 searches each month.  There is some competition, but not a lot.  I think I can easily rank for this keyword.  Most of the websites that were getting the traffic had a combination of paid traffic and organic traffic, however, they were the company selling the treadmill desk.  The review sites that were ranking for the search terms actually had relatively little backlinks (15), so they must have been pretty keyword rich.  It was telling me that the competitor that I want to beat is getting 2,400 visitors through organic searches, so that is a fair amount.  If I keep up my backlink strategy and produce a bit more good content, I should be able to beat them out in google.  😀  This research actually took me only about 20 minutes and I did it on my cheapest treadmill desk!

Today, I'm thinking I will use the under desk treadmill keyword for my website page/blog post.  I will create product review page for under desk treadmills for the DIY treadmill workstation.  Yay!  I have a plan.

So, I discovered that the pictures that I uploaded to my blog pages and posts are not showing up in the featured front page of the website.  This means that google probably doesn't register that it has additional media in the form of pictures on it.  That is fine.  I will add that task to sprucing up the look and content on Saturdays.  Right now, I'm working on content and backlinks.  Today, I was able to complete another blog post with about 1,000 words.  I'm shooting for longer blog posts and I'll work on the format and making them look better on a Saturday.  I tend to get frustrated and overwhelmed with tooling around figuring things out and getting great content at the same time.

One other thing that happened today was that the job I was going to quit called me and asked if I wanted to work on my phone sales.  I agreed to do it tomorrow with the new manager.  I'm on the fence about this calling position since I didn't have any success within the first few days.  However, who knows?  I'm listening to this sales audio.  I'm only in my first week of doing it consistently, but maybe my confidence will shoot up soon.  Maybe I'll become a sales whiz.  I'm going to give it six months and keep you posted on it.  So far, I just have the phrases going through my head.  I listened all night last night and I think I'm up to about 3 hours today.  I should be able to hit four hours by the time I go to bed.  I'll leave it on all night.
